Curious about BABOK® Guide v3? The BABOK® Guide v3 is the most credible and authoritative source of knowledge and practices for business analysis-here's your chance to learn more! The new version expands the source of business analysis,providing essential direction and support for practitioners in areas such as agile, business intelligence, information technology, business architecture, and business process management. As with other professions, the body of knowledge is defined and enhanced by the Business Analysis professionals who apply it daily. The purpose of this Discussion group is to provide you with an opportunity to come together with your peers for a walk through all chapters of the BABOK® and provide an opportunity to try out some of the techniques outlined in the BABOK®! It doesn't matter if you are new to the BA space or a seasoned Business Analyst, there is always something new to learn.

Benefits of the group include:

  1. A moderated walk through the entire updated version of the BABOK® Guide v3
  2. The opportunity to learn and gain new insights from other Business Analysts within the Des Moines area.
  3. The opportunity to network and meet new people.
  4. The opportunity to pose questions and discuss issues applicable to your work.

The BABOK® is the foundation used for the CBAP®/CCBA® certifications. Though the Study Group is NOT a prep course for certification and no professional development credit is offered for the Fall 2018 session, the information in the BABOK® is the basis of the IIBA certification tests.

Member Preference and Pricing

The discussion group is free for IIBA CIC Members in-good-standing.

Non-Members may pay $80 to attend.

If a wait list forms for the BABOK Discussion Group, IIBA Central Iowa Chapter Members will be given preference on a first come-first served basis. Eligibility for member pricing will be verified prior to acceptance of this registration.

Hurry! Class size will be limited to 15 participants and seating will be filled on a first-come/first-served basis. To be successful, participants must plan to attend all classes. Reservations are required so please reserve your seat.

Agile Working Group

This group will provide you with an opportunity to come together with your peers for a practical discussion of matters relevant to the intersection of analysis and agile. It does not matter if you are new to the BA space or a seasoned Business Analyst; can just spell agile, or you can scrum better than the New Zealand Rugby team there is always something new to learn.

Benefits of the group include:
