Instant Diagrams: Enter Data in Excel and Watch  Visio Create the Diagram

You know how to create flowcharts and swimlane  diagrams by dragging shapes onto the Visio drawing page, but did you know that  the Data Visualizer, part of Visio Plan 2, can create diagrams for you? Simply  provide data in Excel for each step in a process and Data Visualizer does the  rest. Even better, the diagram and the data are synchronized so changes you  make in one are synced to the other. It’s also possible to work entirely  within Excel and create a Visio diagram without needing a Visio license! After this session you’ll be equipped to let Visio do most of the work for you when  you need to create diagrams.

Speaker Biography:

Scott A. Helmers is a Partner at the Harvard  Computing Group, a software and consulting firm that assists clients with  understanding and implementing business process solutions. He is a co-inventor  of TaskMap (TaskMap.com), a Visio add-in that allows anyone to document,  analyze, and improve their business processes. Scott has worked with clients  in ten countries on projects involving process mapping and redesign, knowledge  management, and technology training.   Scott has been named a Microsoft Valuable Professional (MVP) for Visio every  year since 2008, one of only six people in the world to hold that distinction.  He is the author of four books from Microsoft Press, including Visio 2016 Step  by Step, is a course author for LinkedIn Learning, and a Senior Instructor  with Netmind.
